He began to study classic guitar with José María Hinojo in Lugo and then studied at the Music Conservatoire of Vigo with Tomás Camacho. Shortly after, he studied harmony, improvisation and jazz guitar with Félix Santos (Madrid) and Alberto Conde de León, among others. He studied with Professors Manolo Sanlucar, Enrique de Melchor, Paco Peña and Manolo Franco, who have praised him for his technique and personality.

 Work & Activities:

He is a member of ‘Nhu’, ‘Baio Ensemble’ and ‘Noroeste’ and carried out concerts, recordings and TV programmes (Jazz Entre Amigos, La Buena Música...); he also collaborated with other artists (Emilio Cao, Andrés do Barro, Baldo Martínez, Benedicto and Fernando Llorca) in national and international tours.
He has been playing flamenco guitar since 1989 and offering concerts in Spain, Europe, Morocco, Japan and Mexico as a soloist, at the head of different groups (Pimenteira, Pimentel Trío, Cuadro Flamenco...) or accompanying other singers (Enrique Lozano El Pescao, Sharay, El Kiki, La Taconita...) or dancers (Andrés Marín, Rafaela Carrasco, Alfonso Losa, Conchi Jareño, Rafael Estévez...), sharing stage with Tony Maya, Ángel Gabarre, Paco del Pozo, Canito, Antonio Solera, Saúl Quirós and many other artists. He also collaborated with other artists outside flamenco: Tapan Battacharya, Sharmila Sharma (India), Carlos Núñez, Uxía, Los Piratas (Galicia), Rasha (Sudán), Omar Acosta (Venezuela) and J.M. Herrera Drake (Cuba).
Throughout his career, he has recorded over a dozen records (Jazz, Rock, Folk,...) with excellent critics from the national and international specialized press. He has also directed or arranged some of these productions (La Sal De La Vida, El Kiki, Música de Galicia,...) and has collaborated in the creation of sound traces and tunings for theatre, TV and advertising.
In 1999, he edited his last work, ‘Música de Galicia’ (Do Fol/BOA), in which he played popular and traditional music with the flamenco guitar. Nowadays, he presents this project live and collaborates with other musicians and groups (Flamenco-Jazz Duo, Terra Ensamble, Combo Manteca...) at the same time he is preparing his next record.
In August 2001, he joined Cristóbal Reyes’s Company for ‘Pura Pasión’, a tour produced by Pino Sagliocco and Joaquín Cortes all around several countries as in Japan for example, where eight concerts were celebrated at the Tokyo International Forum.
In April 2003, he travelled to Mexico as a guitarist and musical director musical of María Juncal’s group. He offered concerts in several stages and participated in the staging of ‘Carmen’ with the National Opera Company at the Palace of Fine Arts.
He has taught flamenco guitar at the Baio School in Vigo and in Santiago de Compostela and gave courses in Spain and other countries on different aspects of flamenco. He also gave private lessons to amateurs and professional musicians. Nowadays, he teaches guitar at the Music School of Porriño (Pontevedra).

In June 1995, he was honoured as ‘Demo of the Month’ in the contest of the prestigious North American magazine ‘Guitar Player’. He was also awarded Luar 2000 Prize on Galician TV (New Musics section).
